Greater Lee's Summit Healthcare Foundation Announces Scholarship Awardees for 2022

Lee’s Summit, MO – The Greater Lee’s Summit Healthcare Foundation (GLSHF) has announced the winners of the 2022 GLSHF Scholarships to support academic studies leading to a health-focused career in a medical or healthcare discipline.

“The Foundation is proud to award a total of $80,000 this year to sixteen students,” said Patrick Kueny, GLSHF Chair The dedication of these students is supported by Greater Lee’s Summit Healthcare Foundation’s commitment to advance the number and quality of healthcare professionals in the local community.”

The Scholarship Committee is honored and enthusiastic to review the many applications every year and to share the hope we have for the impact we believe these students will have on the world.”

  • Allison Jones, DPT Missouri State

  • Michaela Lopez, MD UMKC School of Medicine

  • Alexandra Marko, MD MU Columbia

  • Hannah Pond, BS Nursing Park University

  • Kyle Rampetsreiter, MD University of Kansas School of Medicine

  • Maddison Selley, MS Nursing Family Nurse Practitioner University of Central Missouri

  • Sydney Shatzer, DPT Rockhurst University

  • Samena Talib, MD UMKC School of Medicine

  • Joseph Thomas, BS Nursing MU Columbia

  • Nola Tran, DO Kansas City University of Medicine and Biosciences

Since 2003, GLSHF has awarded over $1.6 million in scholarships or grants to students or local nonprofit organizations focused on making a positive impact on good health.


NEXT GLSHF SCHOLARHIP CYCLE: GLSHF Scholarship applications may be submitted from January 1 through March 1 annually. GLSHF awards multiple scholarships in support of academic studies leading to a career in a medical or healthcare discipline. Applications are available online at www.healthyleessummit.org


NEXT GLSHF GRANT CYCLE: GLSHF grants are awarded annually to local charities with health and wellness projects and programs. New grant requests may be submitted September 1 through October 31 annually. Awards are announced in February. Priority is given to those proposals most consistent with the GLSHF mission and with the widest potential benefit to the community. This may include projects in the areas of research, education, public training programs, programs in schools, clinics for indigent care, equipment, and services.
